As part of generalized flooding in southern Alberta, both rivers that run through Calgary reached flood levels. 75,000 people, living in 27 neighborhoods bordering the rivers, had been required to evacuate. Because of the Emergency Services preparedness, there was only one fatality in the city.
In monitoring news reports and press releases of the emergency, I came across one from the electric company responsible for 11 dams on the flooded rivers.
At first, I thought the descriptions of dams' status might be a poem, but then I realized they were apt descriptions of head spaces that writers and artists frequently find themselves. So I turned the words into an art piece.

I used some Zentangle designs in completing my spinner. If you want to know more about Zentangle, click here, or more about the book, Totally Tangled by Sandy Steen Bartholomew, from which I took these particular designs, click here.
